Former Dilworth fire chief pleads not guilty to making terroristic threats
MOORHEAD – Former Dilworth Fire Chief Kurt Kennedy pleaded not guilty Monday to making terroristic threats.
Kennedy was charged in Clay County District Court in December with one count of making terroristic threats, a felony.
He is accused of saying he wanted to burn down the houses of fire officials and seek “revenge” on city officials.
According to court documents, Kennedy told police he does not remember making any threats.
Kennedy resigned from the Fire Department last year. Earlier this month, the Dilworth City Council voted to fire him from his job as a city maintenance employee.
If convicted, Kennedy faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
He will appear in court again March 25.
