Former Grand Forks resident, murder suspect found dead in plane

A former Grand Forks resident accused of killing a woman in Colorado Springs, Colo., was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday in an empty passenger plane after he apparently tried to steal the plane from a small Utah airport.

Brian Hedglin, 40, was a SkyWest Airlines pilot. Police believe he killed his ex-girlfriend, Christina Cornejo, 39. Both lived in Colorado Springs.
