Former Grand Forks woman charged in daughter's death
A prosecutor said the daughter of a former Grand Forks woman, who charged with child abuse and neglect, has died.
Burleigh County State's Attorney Richard Riha said the 6-month-old child died Wednesday morning. He said no decision has been made on any additional or new charges against the mother. Riha is now a college student in Bismarck.
Stevie Buckley, 18, was charged with felony child abuse and neglect Tuesday, after bringing her daughter to a hospital emergency room the night before. Sheriff's Lt. Nick Sevart said the baby was dehydrated and appeared undernourished.
Buckley also faces misdemeanor drug charges. Her bail was set at $3,000. She told a judge that she has lived in Bismarck about a month, after moving from Grand Forks.
