Fosston proves too tough for Mahnomen Indians
Fosston's Mark Goss rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns as the Fosston Greyhounds ran roughshod on Mahnomen 45-0 Friday.
The Greyhounds piled up 292 yards rushing, while building up a commanding 26-0 halftime lead on two long Goss TD runs of 57 and 25 yards, while Steven Lyseng hauled in a 32-yard pass to open the game's scoring.
"The Greyhounds lived up to their billing," said Mahnomen head coach John Clark Jr. "They were big and physical and dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball."
The Indians were limited to 93 yards on the ground, while throwing for 36. The Greyhounds out-paced Mahnomen by a 328-129 clip in total offense.
Four turnovers -- three interceptions and one fumble -- also hindered Mahnomen.
Dylan Stevens led Mahnomen in rushing with 41 yards on 13 carries.
Mahnomen (2-2) will travel to Fertile-Beltrami (0-4) Friday for a 7 p.m. start.
