Frances always enjoyed participating in and listening to music. During her childhood she played in the elementary school rhythm band, took tap dancing, piano lessons and sang in the mixed chorus. In high school she played cornet in the high school band. Frances supported local music endeavors and faithfully attended countless musical performances for her nieces and nephews. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Other favorite spare time activities included reading, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
Frances was a member of the Detroit Lakes Business and Professional Women's Club, the Library Club and First Lutheran Church, where she was active in women's circle, wedding committee, and volunteer projects until becoming homebound in her later years.
