FRAZEE B-BALL: Battle Lake tops Hornets Monday 56-32
Though they battled through the first half and pulled to within 6 points early in the second, the Frazee boys' basketball team was unable to prevent the visiting Battle Lake Battlers from pulling away for a 56-32 victory Monday night on the Hornets' home court.
"The game stalled out at 9-17 for over five minutes, and we could not take advantage of our good defensive positions," said Frazee head coach Jason Reierson.
"We did not rebound the ball well in the second half, and gave up many points off those extra possessions," he added.
"Matt Tangen did a nice job with the ball, only having two turnovers for the game."
Tangen finished the night with 7 points and 3 assists.
Senior forward Dan Janu led the scoring for the Hornets with 8 points, to go with 16 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.
Senior guard Beau Hanson added 7 points, while Cory Wokasch finished with 6 points and 9 rebounds.
After traveling to Pelican Rapids for a Tuesday night matchup against No. 1 2A-ranked Pelican Rapids, the Hornets will be off until Friday, Jan. 6, when they travel to Breckenridge for a 7:30 p.m. start.
