FRAZEE B-BALL: Janu sinks point No. 1,000
Just over a week after Frazee senior Alexis Tappe drained her 1,000th career point, the Hornet boys' basketball team had its fourth player in history reach the impressive milestone.
Senior post Daniel Janu notched career point 1,000 in a 63-45 loss to Hawley Thursday.
Despite playing a great first half, the Hornets ran out of gas against the Nuggets.
Janu joins Frazee 1,000-point scorers Mitch Anderson, Rodney Newling and Nathan Merseth.
The Hornets played their best half of basketball of the year and led at halftime 31-22.
"The second half, we lost the tempo of the game and did not have the depth to keep up the pace," said Frazee head coach Jason Reierson.
Janu had 26 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and five blocks in the game.
Cory Wokasch chipped in nine points, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Zack Ziegler had two three's but could not get anything to drop in the second half.
The other 4 points came from freshman point guard Matt Tangen, who also snagged five rebounds along with four assists.
Frazee (2-11) will play at Park Christian (3-11) Thursday and will host Henning (9-4) Friday.
