The first half was close throughout as both teams executed well on offense, leading to high percentage shots. The Nuggets (9-3 overall, 4-1 HOL) led 27-24 at halftime.

In the second half, Frazee (12-3 overall, 3-2 HOL) trailed 29-27 with 14 minutes left, only to see Hawley go on a 14-2 run and take control of the game.

From there the Lady Hornets never got closer than 11 points, as their shots did not go in on this night.

The 37 points for Frazee were a season low and only the third time in 15 games they scored below 57 points.

"I thought we didn't work hard enough to get touches inside tonight and relied on our three point shooting too much," head coach Dave Conzemius said. "The shots weren't dropping outside and we didn't do a good job of working to get better shots. I give Hawley a lot of credit, as they shot the ball really well and took advantage of every mistake that we made."

Frazee was led by Alexis Tappe with 14 points and nine rebounds. Josi Tappe came off the bench to add 13 points, five rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots.

The Nuggets were led by Drew Sannes with 21 points. Mira Ellefson chipped in with 11.

"Sannes is an outstanding player and we made things too easy for her tonight," Conzemius said.

"We had some breakdowns defensively and to her credit, she made us pay. We will work hard to make corrections in practice and hopefully we will have improved by the next time we play them."

The Lady Hornets are back in action on Thursday when they travel to conference leader Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.
