Frazee home, belongings deemed total loss in fire
Fire crews from two departments responded to a blaze in a rural Frazee home early Thursday.
Frazee Fire Chief Regi Ueke said that the home and all the family’s belongings were a total loss, but no one was injured.
The report came in around 9 a.m. Thursday, and by the time crews from the Frazee and Wolf Lake fire departments reached the scene, the home was completely engulfed.
The fire was located about six miles east of Frazee on Balsam Avenue. Firefighters remained at the scene for two and half hours.
Ueke said that the four occupants, a mother, father and their two children were not in the home at the time. He also said they had also recently been working on remodeling projects.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined, Ueke said, but is likely electrical. A faulty outlet is suspected.
The family is currently staying with relatives in the area and is receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
