Frazee man charged with assaulting officer
William Paul Bellcourt, 21, of 29395 130th St., Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, transfer of bodily fluids.
According to court records, on May 21 police were dispatched to a fight on the 500 block of East Main in Frazee, where a large group of people had gathered.
Bellcourt, who had his shirt off, allegedly swore at an officer, called him a "pig" and said he wasn't afraid of him, then extended his arms as if to fight him. He tried to spit on the officer
Bellcourt's brother held his arms so the officer could handcuff him, and Bellcourt allegedly spit in the officer's face as he was being put into a squad car. He also spit all over the inside of the squad car.
He appeared May 24 before District Judge Joe Evans, who set cash bail or bond at $5,000 and set his next court appearance for June 28.
