Frazee man charged with three counts of felony assault
Devin Wayne Jourdain, 22, of Town Lake Trailer Court, Lot 13, Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fourth-degree assault on a peace officer -- transfer bodily fluids.
He is also charged with fifth-degree assault and domestic assault, both felonies.
According to court records:
On Thursday, law enforcement officers were called to a possible domestic assault. A woman alleged that Jourdain had assaulted her. She said he had left the area, but her response seemed evasive, so officers searched the residence and found Jourdain hiding under a bed where two young children were sleeping.
He was identified as the woman's boyfriend and was arrested. He allegedly became combative with officers, and, despite being ordered to stop, repeatedly banged his head against the plexiglass in a deputy's squad car all the way to jail.
At the jail other officers were present to help the deputy remove Jourdain from the squad car. He allegedly spit full in the deputy's face as soon as the door was opened. He was taken upstairs and put in a restraint chair, where he allegedly continued his abusive and belligerent language towards jail staff.
He said he had mixed "numerous pills" with alcohol that evening.
On Thursday, District Judge Lisa Borgen set $50,000 bail or bond and set his next court appearance for March 2.
