Frazee man given probation for writing about $900 in bad checks
Justin David DeMeules, 24, of Frazee has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony issuance of dishonored checks.
According to court records, in January, he wrote three checks totaling about $900 to area businesses on a closed checking account.
He appeared Wednesday before District Judge Peter Irvine, who sentenced him to 17 months in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years. He was placed on supervised probation for five years.
He must serve 90 days in jail and pay a $1,000 fine plus court fees and $1,100 in restitution.
