The Student Council has adopted the theme of "This is the Year" as their motto for 2012-13, and will try and carry that out throughout their events during the school year.

In conjunction with back to school activities, on Friday, Sept. 7, they will be having an event called "Tackle Cancer."

This event will include events at the high school, where tickets will be sold for a chance to win the "best seat in the house," root beer floats will be sold during lunch on Friday, and the Student Council is also encouraging all fans to wear green to the football game as a sign of unity, as they all work to "Tackle Cancer."

There will be a pass the hat donation during halftime as we work to raise money for the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund.

The Hornets take on the Mahnomen Indians.  Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

Nominations Needed for Grand Marshal

Along with back to school events, Student Council is well underway on planning Homecoming festivities.

The theme for this year is "Welcome to the Jungle" as the Hornets will be playing the Pine River-Backus Tigers for the Homecoming game on Sept. 28.

Also on the 28th will be the 3rd annual Homecoming parade.

Anyone interested in participating in the parade is encouraged to call or e-mail Lindsey Seawell at 334-3181, Ext. 5402 or lseawell@frazee.k12.mn.us .

Student Council is also looking for nominations for Grand Marshal of the Homecoming parade.

Previous Grand Marshals have been Jim Lamont and Jim Smith. Anyone may nominate someone for Grand Marshal my calling or emailing Jim Jacobson at 334-3181 Ext. 5317 or jjacoson@frazee.k12.mn.us.

Nominees for Grand Marshal should be someone who has had significant impact on Frazee High School as a former/current teacher, coach, alumni or business member.

Nominations should be submitted by Sept. 12.
