FRED and NREC to offer leadership trip
The Foundation of Rural Education and Development and the National Exchange Carrier Association are teaming up to provide rural students the learning opportunity of a lifetime.
The Leadership Through Learning Program provides a hands-on approach to education.
High school juniors and seniors from across the U.S. are invited to spend an all expense-paid week in our nation's capital to learn about government, civic affairs and telecommunications regulation, as well as to meet students their own age from all parts of the county.
In 2010, FRED will welcome approximately 10-15 students over April 11-16.
Any high school junior or senior that lives or attends school in the Arvig Communication Systems service area is eligible to apply. There is no cost to the student.
Students can apply to the program online at www.fred.org or fill out the traditional application form.
Applicants must have a letter of recommendation from Arvig Communication Systems. The deadline to apply is Dec. 11.
Contact Josie Winkels, Executive Administrative Assistant at Arvig Communication Systems, at 218-346-8213 or firstname.lastname@example.org
for a letter of recommendation, or if you have any questions.
