Free bike rodeo is April 26 at Kent Freeman Arena
Families are invited to attend a free bike rodeo on Saturday April 26, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Kent Freeman Arena hosted by the Detroit Lakes Active Living Committee.
New bikes and bike helmets will be given away.
A bike rodeo provides bicycle safety skills through an obstacle course along with a bike safety inspection, bike helmets and a bike give-away. Children grades K-8 and their parents will have fun learning bike safety skills at a variety of engaging learning stations.
As participants complete the bike rodeo course, they will be eligible to enter a drawing for a new high quality bike. No pre-registration is required but participants need to bring their bike and helmet.
The purpose of the event is to get more people moving — children and families — and to move safely.
