Free Knutson film screening is Saturday, Nov. 2

Independent filmmaker Gayle Knutson, a native of Detroit Lakes, will present three of her short films at a special “Movie Hour” this Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1:30 Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes.

The three award-winning films to be presented include scripted drama “Grandfather’s Birthday,” the humorous documentary “If There Were No Lutherans…Would There Still Be Green Jello?” and the much more serious documentary, “Prisoner 32,232,” about the life of St. Olaf College professor Reidar Dittmann, who was once interred in the Jewish concentration camp of Buchenwald.

The screening is free and open to the public; green jello and other refreshments will be served.
