Froke receives top honors from MASA
The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) has named Doug Froke, superintendent for Detroit Lakes School District, an Administrator of Excellence.
Froke will be honored for his leadership, concern for students, and active involvement in professional and community affairs at a statewide recognition ceremony in March. According to a letter from the MASA, Froke’s achievements reflect his ability to lead important changes in the educational system.
He has served as the Superintendent for the Detroit Lakes School District since 2007, working to provide the best possible educational programs for students.
The letter goes on to say Froke has managed the development of professional learning communities to establish a common curriculum and essential learning outcomes across the district, resulting in two elementary schools being named both a Minnesota Reward and Celebration School.
The district has also entered into a partnership with Minnesota State University Moorhead where college faculty and the district’s teachers participate in joint professional development.
As a result, college professors can train students in the MSUM School of Education on the best practices in today’s teaching profession.
Froke is an active member in MASA, previously serving as the Region IV Chair on the MASA Board of Directors and participating in multiple MASA committees.
Froke holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a master’s degree in secondary school administration from Northern State University, as well as a specialist’s degree in education administration from the University of South Dakota.
