Gail A. Berg, 74, of Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at her residence, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Gail Adell Berg was born to Edwin and Hilda (Anderson) Ness on December 8, 1938 in rural Lake Park. She grew up and received her educa-tion in Lake Park, gradu-ating from Lake Park High School in 1956.
On November 17, 1956 she was united in mar-riage to Kenneth Berg at the Gran Lutheran Church near Hawley. They made their home in Detroit Lakes, where Gail began her career as a cashier at Evans' Supermarket. She worked in the grocery business for over 30 years; her last job was working for Central Market in Detroit Lakes.
Gail enjoyed sewing, fishing and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; one son, Bryce (Michelle) Berg of North Branch, Minn.; two daughters, Laurel Wright of Soldotna, Alaska, and Lois Berg of Big Lake, Minn.; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four brothers, Lowell (Carol) Ness of Lake Park, Harold (Diane) Ness of Moorhead, Arvid Ness of Lake Park and Harvey (Deb) Ness, of Lake Park; two sisters, Irene Roen of Lake Park and Paulette (Ron) Foss of Zeeland, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one daughter, Angela Berg.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14 at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Interment is at Gran Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hawley.
