Girl injured in fatal crash near Alexandria released from hospital
An 8-year-old Fargo girl injured in a three-vehicle crash that killed her father and two brothers near Alexandria on Christmas Eve morning was released from the St. Cloud Hospital Sunday.
Anna Dunnuck was taken to St. Cloud after the crash, which occurred on Interstate 94 just east of Exit 103 last Wednesday morning.
She was initially in critical condition Wednesday but was upgraded to fair condition Thursday.
Dunnuck was traveling with her father, Thomas, 48, of West Fargo, and brothers Samuel, 15, and Gabriel, 12, to a family Christmas gathering in Indiana.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Samuel was driving the family's Chevy Trailblazer on eastbound I-94. He lost control of the car just as it was about to pass a semi stopped on the eastbound shoulder.
The semi driver, Darrell Albertson, 69, of Fergus Falls, had pulled over to help the driver and passenger of a Toyota Corolla that had slid off the road.
The Trailblazer hit the back of the semi and crossed the eastbound traffic lanes before crashing into the Corolla. Albertson and the Corolla driver and passenger were not injured.
The road was icy at the time, the State Patrol said. The crash time was listed as 8:50 a.m.
Samuel, who would have turned 16 in March, had a driver's permit, his grandfather, Forst Dunnuck, told The Forum on Thursday.
Services were announced Friday for the three Dunnuck family members by Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, which is handing the arrangements.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 123 10th St. S., for Thomas Dunnuck. His funeral will be Tuesday at 11 at the funeral home.
The funeral service for Samuel and Gabriel is scheduled for noon Wednesday at Temple Beth El, 809 11th Ave. S., in Fargo.
