Gov. Dayton in Detroit Lakes for fundraiser
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton will be the guest of honor at a fundraiser for the Dayton-Smith ticket to be held at the Ted and Marysia Fiskevold residence Thursday, June 5.
Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. The fundraiser is open to the public, with a minimum suggested contribution of $25 per person.
The fundraiser is sponsored by the Becker County DFL, along with a half-dozen other area DFL units. Sponsors donate $200.
More than 30 people have signed up to be co-hosts, each pledging at least $150 towards Dayton’s re-election campaign.
Earlier this year Dayton picked Tina Smith, his chief of staff and a longtime veteran of local and statewide political campaigns, to fill a vacancy for lieutenant governor on the 2014 ballot.
The announcement came a few weeks after Dayton’s current second-in-command, former state Sen. Yvonne Prettner Solon, announced she would not seek another term alongside the governor this fall.
The fundraiser will be held at 29038 Highway 34 East, Detroit Lakes.
