Grand Forks man who crashed car during police chase in satisfactory condition
GRAND FORKS -- Kody Larter, the Grand Forks man who crashed his car Friday while fleeing a sheriff's deputy is in satisfactory condition in Altru Hospital, a nursing supervisor said Sunday.
That's an upgrade in his condition since Friday, when he was in serious condition in the intensive care unit.
Larter, 22, allegedly fled a Grand Forks County Sheriff's deputy about 2:43 a.m. Friday on Columbia Road's extension south of the city, eventually crashing his 1992 Saturn head-on into a stoplight pole at Columbia Road and 32nd Avenue South.
Larter was cited for fleeing a law enforcement officer, drunk driving and driving with a suspended license.
He was not wearing a seat belt.
