Grand Forks police say body of 18-year-old found in park

GRAND FORKS - The dead body discovered Tuesday in Lincoln Drive Park is believed to be that of an 18-year-old male from Grand Forks.

However, the identity has not yet been released.

Grand Forks Police Department responded to the discovery of a dead body in Lincoln Park shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said there was no threat to public safety. Sgt. Jason Dvorak said the incident was being treated as an unattended death and was under investigation. The body was taken to Altru Hospital.

A passerby found the body near a boat landing in Lincoln Park.

According to a news release issued Wednesday morning, there appears to be no obvious indications of foul play and no public safety concerns. Grand Forks Police Department is continuing the investigation.
