Grand Forks woman accused of biting 1-year-old, says child bit her first
GRAND FORKS - A Grand Forks woman has been charged with child abuse for allegedly biting her 1-year-old son in the leg.
Elizabeth Ann Fettig, 28, told a social worker she bit the child because it had bitten her, the affidavit filed in state district court said. The alleged incident happened Wednesday, a police report shows.
Grand Forks County State's Attorney Peter Welte said the child is in his stepfather's custody in Grand Forks.
At an initial court appearance Monday, Judge Lawrence Jahnke ordered that Fettig be released on her own recognizance until her preliminary hearing Aug. 22.
Fettig was convicted of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor charge, in Bismarck in 2009.
