The sentences were handed down Monday in district court in Grand Rapids.

For the plea, Madsen had a nearly five-year prison sentence stayed and will serve one year in county jail. He will be on 10 years of supervised probation and must pay a $1,485 fine and complete 20 hours of community service. There are several conditions to his probation, including keeping a job and remaining a law-abiding citizen.

A restitution hearing will be held June 30.

Erin Autio, 28, will also have a five-year prison sentenced stayed in favor of five years supervised probation, and one year in Itasca County jail. She will also not be allowed to use drugs or alcohol, or appear in bars or liquor stores, and she must submit to random drug and alcohol testing. She must also obtain her GED or high school equivalency degree within one year, according to the sentence handed down by Judge David S. Schmit.

Autio admitted to assisting Madsen in the burglaries of nine churches in Grand Rapids, Deer River, Cohasset, Bovey and Pengilly, along with a cabin near Effie.
