Gymnastics: Lakers notch season-high score with top performances

It was an all-around good meet for the Detroit Lakes gymnastics team, which set a season-high 145.3 score in its win over visiting Park Rapids Saturday inside the Flyers Gymnastics facility.

Molly Lyngaas won all-around honors with a final tally of 36.85, while tying with teammate Jordyn Peterson for first on floor with a 9.45.

The Lakers took the top five spots in every event, with Alexis Yliniemi winning vault with an excellent score of 9.575, while Lyngaas took bars with a 9.4.

Emma Disse dominated on beam with a sticky performance of 9.3. Lyngaas and Cora Okeson also eclipsed the 9.0 barrier on beam with scores of 9.15 and 9.125, respectively.

The Lakers will be in Perham Friday evening for a 6 p.m. start.
