Hal Landis Dunham, 56, of Fargo, N.D., passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Essentia Health in Fargo.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Sunnyside Care Center, near Lake Park.
Hal was born on Feb. 12, 1958, to Juleen and Ruby (Garrison) Dunham at St. Ansgar's Hospital in Moorhead. He was raised in Barnesville, Dilworth and rural Lake Park and graduated from Lake Park High School in 1976. He was a star athlete in football, basketball and track. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1976 and served with the medical corp. He was stationed in Texas, Korea, and Colorado and was honorably discharged in 1983.
Upon his return to the states, Hal attended NDSU and MSCTC-Moorhead where he received training in welding and diesel mechanics. He worked for Midland Diesel until he retired due to health reasons.
Hal was a lifetime member of the VFW in Audubon.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby (Garrison) Dunham, Lake Park; three brothers, DeWayne (Peggy) Dunham, Audubon, Juel (Joni) Dunham, Lake Park, and Jay (Mary) Dunham, West Fargo; four sisters, Rita (Charles) Leach, Glyndon, Deborah Dunham, Lake Park, Nora (Donald) Samelson, Fort Collins, Colo., and Elizabeth Turner, Arpin, Wis., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends who were all cherished by Hal.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juleen Dunham, grandparents Helmer and Selma Dunham, and Ralph and Nora Garrison, and brother-in-law Thomas Turner.
