Hans Victor (H.V.) Anderson, 88, of Frazee, died Monday, November 17, 2008 in Detroit Lakes.

Hans Victor Anderson was born to John and Lettie Anderson on June 21, 1920. He was the first child born on the current sixth generation farm north of Lake Park. He was baptized and confirmed at Lake Park Lutheran Church. He attended country school in District 12 and graduated from Lake Park High School. Since the age of 18, he had spent his entire working career as a salesman and inventor.

Vic served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and spent three and a half years in the South Pacific Theater. In 1945, he married Minerva Eastman of Toronto, S.D. They moved to Frazee in 1952. He was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served as past president of the congregation. Vic belonged to the Frazee Community Club and volunteered as the Turkey Days festival chair in 1968.

Vic was a past member of Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary. He was part of the Frazee Golf Course Association and managed the course for 5 years. In 2007, he was selected to be part of the Veterans' Honor Flight to see the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. Vic and Minerva were honored as Grand Marshals of the Frazee Turkey Days Parade in 2008.

Vic is survived by Minerva, his wife of 63 wonderful years; children Roxann (Dave) Daggett of Frazee and Jon (Nicolette) Anderson of Fargo; sister Eunice Ellickson; brother Chester (Evelyn Johnson) Anderson; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his sister, Ruby Berland, and brothers Leslie, Wendell and Orlo Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. It will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Frazee.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Furey Funeral Home, Frazee.
