Legion Auxiliary breakfast
American Legion Auxiliary hosts breakfast and a bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon. Build your own omelet, pancakes & sausage, French toast & sausage or biscuits & gravy. There will also be baked and homemade goodies for sale.
Tickets are on sale for the Frazee-Vergas School musical Rapunzel, with the final performance tonight in the Commons. Show time is at 3. Tickets are available in the high school office and are $6 for adults and $4 for students.
World Run Day
World Run Day Group Run begins at 9 a.m. at the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center. Bring a canned good for every mile you plan to run -- 2, 4 and 6-mile routes available. Founded in 1999 by Long Island Runner Bill McDermott, "World Run Day" is intended to promote the sport of running and charitable giving on one special day each year. Sons of Norway - Vikingland Lodge No. 495 in Detroit Lakes meets at 7 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Nutrition Center. Program is Verlyn Anderson from Moorhead will speak about modern Norway. He was a professor at Concordia College.
A Sons of Norway - Vikingland Lodge No. 495 in Detroit Lakes membership dinner is at 6 p.m. in the American Legion. Learn the history of Vikingland Lodge No. 495. Tammi Jensen will entertain on the piano. This is open to anyone interested in learning about the local Sons of Norway lodge, interested in learning about rosemaling, hardanger, folkdancing, carving and language class or how to make lefse, krumkake, rosettes, fattiman, romegrot.
