Adult Spanish Club

The Friends of Maplewood State Park annual meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Josh Hanson Memorial Picnic Shelter. It's a time for all interested Friends of Maplewood State Park to gather and find out what has been happening at the park and to share your thoughts and ideas for Maplewood. The Lake Country Scenic Byway Association meeting is the first Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in Grace Community Church, Osage.

Salad luncheon

Grace Lutheran Church, DL, hosts their 12th annual salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $7. Tickets are available at the church from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and at the luncheon.

Farmers Union convention

EAA chapter 1498

EAA Chapter 1498 holds a meet and greet at the Wething Airport at Detroit Lakes each Saturday. Aviators and aviation buffs are welcome. Come enjoy the coffee and rolls and listen to the countless stories from many of the pilots in attendance.

Fall church dinner

Lake Grove Lutheran Church Fall Dinner is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Waubun Community Center. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for ages 6-11 and under 6 are free. There will be a Country Store.

Fall church dinner and raffle

Assumption Catholic Church, Callaway, hosts a fall dinner and raffle from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Callaway Event Center. Adults are $8, kids 6-12 are $4 and ages 5 and under are free. There will also be a cake walk, silent auction, kids games, prize and more.

Ham dinner

A ham dinner is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. It is a free will donation to benefit the preschool/daycare program.

Grieving my way

Sept. 14 is the deadline for the Tamarac Wildlife Refuge photo contest.
