MAC NAPS

The January MAC-NAPS distribution is from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Applications are available at St. Luke's church. To qualify, you must be at least 60 years old age and meet the USDA income guidelines.

Dulcimer jam

A dulcimer jam is at 6:30 p.m. in Lincoln Park, 307 Park St., DL.

Saturday, Jan. 5

Snowmobile ride

ULTRA Snowmobile Club hosts a Classic Cruise of 1980s and older snowmobiles. The ride begins at 10 a.m. at the Becker County Fairgrounds and goes from DL to Vergas and back. No trail permits are needed for the ride.

Sunday, Jan. 6

Pancake breakfast

The Knights of Columbus sponsors a pancake/French toast and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center.

Lakes Plus square dance

Lakes Plus hosts a square dance at 2 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Hall, 118 W. Holmes St. Detroit Lakes. Roger McNeil will call the tips. A potluck finger food lunch will be available during the dance. Visitors and spectators are welcome.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

High Mileage Fellowship

High Mileage Fellowship meets the first Tuesday of each month in Community Alliance Church, DL. There is a pot-blessing meal at noon, followed by a time of sharing birthdays and anniversaries, a Bible Nugget and special music. This is an inter-denominational fellowship for all those 55 and over.

Serenity Group

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.

Sons of Norway

Sons of Norway -- Vikingland Lodge No. 495 -- meets at 7 p.m. in Union Central. There will be a surprise musical program.

Ladies Bibles tudy

Community Alliance Church, DL, hosts a ladies Bible study Thursdays beginning Thursday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Childcare available for all ages. For more info, call 847-2266.

Senior driver safety course

Defensive driving 4-hr class is being offered Jan. 16 from 1-5 p.m., Jan. 31 from 5-9 p.m. and Feb. 7 from 9a.m.-1 p.m. in the United Community Insurance Agency, Perham (Next to Lakes Cafe). There will be an 8-hour session Jan. 30 and 31 from 5-9 p.m. both days. Open to anyone wanting to maintain 10 percent insurance discount.
