Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.

Lake Park Garden Club

The Lake Park Garden Club meets at 1 p.m. in the Lake Park City Center. Dorothy Harsh will present the program. Planning will continue for the District 11 Minnesota Horticultural Society yearly event to be hosted this year by our local club Aug. 1. New members are always welcome.

Passover Meal

Lund Lutheran Church, located at 25213 County Highway 221, Detroit Lakes, will host a special presentation of the Passover Meal at 7 p.m. Presenters will be Jon and Carolyn Lybeck, Moorhead, who have traveled to Israel. Come and learn more about God’s marvelous prophetic description of the Messiah as revealed in the traditions of the Jewish Passover meal. The evening will conclude with a communion service. Parkinson’s Support Group

A Parkinson’s Support Group meets from 2-3 in Ecumen Detroit Lakes, Emmanuel Nursing Home.  Guest Speaker is Julie Kaufman, pharmacist from Sanford Health. Julie will speak on medications and Parkinson’s disease. For more information, contact Sue Sorensen at 218-847-4486.

Native American Week

Native American Week celebration includes: Friday, March 22, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., M State cafeteria — Quiz Bowl Competition with 6-12 young artist/writers Awards; Saturday, March 23 — DL is hosting the Minnesota State Drum and Dance Competition, Middle School. Grand Entry is at noon.

Kidsfirst preschool

Kidsfirst Preschool at First Lutheran Church, DL, will begin taking fall 2013 registrations on March 1. Please come in person and bring your child’s immunization records with you. Toastmasters

The newly restructured 412 Lakes Area Toastmasters meets on the first and third Friday of each month from noon–1 p.m. in M State, room C-102 in Detroit Lakes. Meetings are free to the public and visitors are welcome.

L.A. Moms group

L.A. (Lakes Area) Moms is designed to nurture every mother. At our L.A. Moms group, you will have a chance to socialize with other moms, hear some great teaching, have discussion time and participate in creative activities. L.A. Faithful Parents Group

Find free resources and support at www.faithfulparents.net or attend our Faithful Parents Group. They meet every Thursday at 7 p.m. near Richwood. Call Karlena at 849-5501 for directions. Come if you are struggling with teen/adult children with negative behavior or who may have an addiction.

TOPS chapter 30

Minnesota TOPS Chapter 30 meets Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church choir room.

TOPS chapter 1251

Minnesota TOPS Chapter 1251 meets every Tuesday in the Lake Park Lutheran Church, using the west church entrance to the basement. Effective immediately weigh-ins start at noon and the meeting at 12:30 p.m. New members are always welcome. If you would like more information, contact 532-2883.

Birthing class

St. Mary’s Innovis Health hosts childbirth preparation classes for expectant mothers in their sixth to seventh month of pregnancy. Topics include Labor & Delivery, Cesarean Birth, Role of the Labor Companion, Newborn Care, Unexpected Outcomes, Breast & Bottle Feeding, Postpartum Period, Breathing Patterns & Relaxation Techniques. Card making, scrapbooking

The DL Senior Citizen Center hosts a card making and scrapbooking class every Monday from 9 a.m. to noon. Donated cards are welcome.
