Overeaters Anonymous, Serenity Group

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.

May Day breakfast

United Methodist Church, DL, hosts a May Day breakfast from 7-10 a.m.  Adults are $6, kids 6-12 are $3 and under 6 are free.

Dulcimer jam

A dulcimer jam is at 6:30 p.m. in Lincoln Park, Park Street entrance.

Tamarac volunteer training

Do you like to spend time in the outdoors? Why not consider sharing your talents at Tamarac by volunteering. Many positions are available including Interpretive Guides, Environmental Educators (working with children/school field trip days), Maintenance Assistants, Aquatic Invasive Species Educators, Wildlife Surveyors and more. Spring training will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tamarac Shop. Lunch will be provided and followed by a refuge site visit. Tamarac clean-up day

Tamarac’s Annual Clean-Up Day is from 8:30 a.m. to noon beginning at the Tamarac NWR Shop. Lend a hand as we prepare to welcome spring and early summer visitors. We will work on refuge litter routes and other projects. Dress for the weather. Bring gloves and wear clothes you can get dirty. Lunch will be provided by the Friends of Tamarac. Chorale spring tour

The East Central Minnesota Chorale Spring Tour, with artistic director Mark Potvin, is at 3 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, DL. It is a freewill offering.

Smelt fry

Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Snellman, hosts an all you can eat smelt fry from 4 to 8 p.m. Adults are $10, kids 6-11 are $5 and 5 and under are free.

Run for a Cure

Run for a Cure, a 5k run or walk, begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. at Arvig Park/softball diamonds, Perham. Shot gun start at 9. Cost is $20 on race day. This event will be held rain, snow or shine. All ages welcome. Registration forms are at www.raceberryjam.com or the Perham City Chamber offices.

Adult Spanish Club

On the 5th of each month, join the adult Spanish Club at El Loro to practice your conversation skills. Drinks are at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7.

‘Noises Off’

DLHS presents the play “Noises Off” April 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. each night in the middle school auditorium. Tickets are on sale at Central Market or at the door.

Rummage, bake sale

St. Theodore’s Church, Ponsford/Pine Point, hosts a rummage and bake sale May 3-4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Plant and Pest Clinics

The Becker County Master Gardeners host Plant & Pest Clinics on May 6, 13, 20 and 28 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Becker County Extension Office, 1120 8th St. SE, Detroit Lakes. Call 846-7328 ext. 7105 for more information.
