Tamarac volunteer training
Do you like to spend time in the outdoors? Why not consider sharing your talents at Tamarac by volunteering. Many positions are available including Interpretive Guides, Environmental Educators (working with children/school field trip days), Maintenance Assistants, Aquatic Invasive Species Educators, Wildlife Surveyors and more. Spring training will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tamarac Shop. Lunch will be provided and followed by a refuge site visit. Tamarac clean-up day
Tamarac’s Annual Clean-Up Day is from 8:30 a.m. to noon beginning at the Tamarac NWR Shop. Lend a hand as we prepare to welcome spring and early summer visitors. We will work on refuge litter routes and other projects. Dress for the weather. Bring gloves and wear clothes you can get dirty. Lunch will be provided by the Friends of Tamarac. Chorale spring tour
The East Central Minnesota Chorale Spring Tour, with artistic director Mark Potvin, is at 3 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, DL. It is a freewill offering.
Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Snellman, hosts an all you can eat smelt fry from 4 to 8 p.m. Adults are $10, kids 6-11 are $5 and 5 and under are free.
Run for a Cure
Run for a Cure, a 5k run or walk, begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. at Arvig Park/softball diamonds, Perham. Shot gun start at 9. Cost is $20 on race day. Wayzata Women’s Chorus
The Wayzata Women’s Chorus performs at 7 p.m. in the Cormorant Township Hall. Admission is $5 and tickets will be available at the door.

High Mileage Fellowship
High Mileage Fellowship meets the first Tuesday of each month in Community Alliance Church, DL. There is a pot-blessing meal at noon, followed by a time of sharing birthdays and anniversaries, a Bible Nugget and special music. This is an inter-denominational fellowship for all those 55 and over.

LP-A Community Education
The Lake Park-Audubon Community Education has several upcoming classes including:
- May 7, 6-10 p.m., LPA elementary library. AARP class, 4-hour refresher course. Fee is $18 for non-member and $16 for member. Instructor is Tom Anderson.
- May 14, 6:30-8 p.m. at Country Fields Greenhouse. Would you like to have a garden, but think you don’t have the space? Come see how to garden in containers or even hay bales. Fee is $6 plus supplies.
- Looking for vendors. Do you have old books, antiques or have some starter plants to sell. The Lake Park Audubon Community is hosting an outdoor Flea Market on June 8 during the 29th Annual Audubon Crazy Days. The cost of a 10 x 20 ft. space is $15. It is in the Bell State Bank parking lot and Eagle Street.

L.A. (Lakes Area) Moms is designed to nurture every mother. At our L.A.
