Adult Spanish Club

On the 5th of each month, join the adult Spanish Club at El Loro to practice your conversation skills. Drinks are at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7.

MAC-NAPS

The June MAC-NAPS distribution is 3-5:30 p.m. in the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Applications are available at St. Luke’s Church. To qualify, you must be at least 60 years of age and meet the USDA income guidelines.

Dulcimer jam

A dulcimer jam is at 6:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Park Apt. 207, Park Street entrance.

Wildlife Excursion

Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge hosts a Wildlife Excursion at 10 a.m. Wildlife Excursions are offered every Thursday at 10 a.m., June through August. Explore the refuge with a knowledgeable guide. Search for wildlife and learn about the cultural and natural history of Tamarac on this 2 hour driving tour. Meet at the Chippewa Picnic Area located on County Hwy 26, 3 miles east of the Visitor Center.

Lakes Country Woodcarvers

The Lakes Country Woodcarvers are in the storefront next to White Drug in the Washington Square Mall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone interested in carving can stop by and visit.

Laker dance team fundraiser

The Laker dance team hosts a fundraiser at 4 Seasons Car Wash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

AIS training

Family Nature Trek

Tamarac Wildlife Refuge hosts a family nature trek at 2 p.m. Join a Tamarac naturalist as we explore part of the North Country Trail. Discover the wonders of the woods from trees to flowers to the critters who call this place home. You never know what’s around the corner. Meet at the North County Trail access on the Blackbird Wildlife Drive for this mini-hike. The Blackbird Wildlife Drive is located on County Hwy 26, 2 miles east of the Visitor Center.

Grieving my way

Grieving my Way, a support group for parents who have experienced the loss of a child of any age, meets the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Hospice building. For more info, call Brenda at 846-9275.

Odd Fellows meeting Odd Fellows meets at 1:30 p.m. in the IOOF hall at 118 W. Holmes St., DL. Visitors are always welcome.

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.

Sons of Norway

Vikingland Lodge No. 495, Detroit Lakes, meets at 7 p.m. in Union Central. The program is Jack Berenz from Becker County Food Pantry. Bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry.  Tak!

Miscellaneous

Shoreham Chapel

Historic Shoreham Chapel, non-denominational, between Lake Melissa and Lake Sallie, holds services June 9-Sept. 1 at 10:45 a.m. It is open to the public. Coffee and refreshments follow the service. Dan Danielson, director of New Life Center in Fargo, and Rev. Tim Cook, Chaplain of St. Mary’s Hospital in DL, will be officiating at different times. Kathie Brekke and the apostles Blues Band will perform at the opening service.
