The Laurentian Lakes Chapter of the North Country Trail hosts a wildflower and Lady Slipper hike at 9 a.m. from Camp 6 Forest trail to Elbow Lake Rd. Meet at the trailhead on Elbow Lake Road which is located 1.5 miles west of Becker Co. 37 (Watch for the Many Point Boy Scout Camp Signs) and we’ll shuttle to the start of the hike. High Mileage Fellowship
High Mileage Fellowship meets the first Tuesday of each month in Community Alliance Church, DL. There is a pot-blessing meal at noon, followed by a time of sharing birthdays and anniversaries, a Bible Nugget and special music. This is an inter-denominational fellowship for all those 55 and over.

Learn to fish for free
The DNR hosts MinnAqua’s Peers to Piers program from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday on the Little Detroit Lake pier across from El Loro restaurant. The DNR provides all fishing equipment and bait for kids wanting to learn to fish. Kids fish for free up to age 16 with no license required. Red Cross swim lessons
Red Cross swimming lessons on Long Lake near Vergas are July 8-12 and 15-19, 30 minutes each day. Water safety instructor is Nancy Jacobson.
