High Mileage Fellowship
High Mileage Fellowship meets the first Tuesday of each month in Community Alliance Church, DL. There is a pot-blessing meal at noon, followed by a time of sharing birthdays and anniversaries, a Bible Nugget and special music. This is an inter-denominational fellowship for all those 55 and over.

Learn to fish for free
The DNR hosts MinnAqua’s Peers to Piers program from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday on the Little Detroit Lake pier across from El Loro restaurant. The DNR provides all fishing equipment and bait for kids wanting to learn to fish. Kids fish for free up to age 16 with no license required. Detroit Lakes will continue its fine tradition of celebrating Independence Day with a spectacular fireworks display on Little Detroit Lake, starting at approximately 10 p.m. This display can be seen from the DL City Park, the mile-long public beach or anywhere near the lake. Long Lake boat parade

Floyd Shores sponsors their annual fishing contest on Big, Middle and Little Floyd lakes. It is free to association members and their families. It will be held rain or shine.
