The Rising Sun Dancers host a square dance from 2-4:30 p.m. in the Waubun Community Center. Royce Nelson is calling the tips. Lunch will be served by the club.  All dancers and spectators are welcome.

Teachers Tea

MSUM professor Steve Hoffbeck presents facts from the JFK assassination 50 years ago. He will speak at 7 p.m. in the DL Library. It is a free event.

Christian Women’s Club

The DL Christian Women’s Club presents “Walking in the Light” with Randy Kohler from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the American Legion. Supper cost is $5. Make reservations by Nov. 18 to Norma at 846-1977 or Ruth at 847-5507.

Alpha Delta Kappa

The Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa meets at the Holiday Inn. A social time will be followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. and the business meeting. This month’s program will feature “Frazee Robotics” by Andy Paulson.

ULTRA Snowmobile Club

The Detroit Lakes ULTRA Snowmobile Club meets at 7 p.m. in the Eagles Club in Detroit Lakes. The club encourages all area snowmobilers to attend and get involved to help support our local trail system. Chili will be served. All snowmobilers are invited to attend the meeting.

Friendly Squares

The Park Rapids Friendly Squares host a square dance in Park Rapids Century School. The caller will be Royce Nelson and Donna Stone will cue round dancing between tips. There will be “Plus” dancing from 7:30 to 8 and mainstream from 8 to 10. The club members will furnish potluck lunch after the dance. All Square dancers and spectators are welcome.

JFK assassination presentation

M State instructor Steve Carlson presents a second look at the JFK assassination and Warren Report from 6-10 p.m. in room c101 in M State. Cost is $5.

Music teachers

Tickle your Taste Buds

Grace Lutheran Church, DL, host Tickle your Taste Buds Fall festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be coffee and rolls in the morning, knoepfle soup and sandwiches in the afternoon. Jams, jelly, pickles, candy, doughnuts and much more will be for sale. There will also be demonstrations in wood carving, rosemaling and lefse making.

Fall bazaar

St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Park Rapids, hosts its fall bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be coffee and rolls, lunch, crafts, children’s dollar store, bake sale, door prizes and more.


DL are adaptive hockey

The Detroit Lakes Area Adaptive Hockey is a new team that spends time on the ice working towards being a part of Minnesota Special Hockey, and is open to any age and ability.
