Friendly Squares dance
Park Rapids Friendly Squares hosts a square dance at the Park Rapids Airport. The dance will be from 8 p.m.-midnight. The club will be serving potluck at 10 p.m. The caller will be Roger Lueth, and Donna Stone will be cueing rounds between tips. All square dancer and spectators are welcome.
New Year’s Eve dance party
The Detroit Lakes Eagles Club hosts a New Year’s Eve dance party from 8 p.m. to midnight. Music is by Hatfield Bay. Members and guests are welcome.

The January MAC-NAPS distribution is from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, DL. Applications are available at St. Luke’s Church; to quality you must be at least 60 years of age and meet the USDA income guidelines.
Heart O’Lakes Genealogical Society holds its regular meeting and Christmas party on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Becker County Museum. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone who is interested in researching their family history is invited to attend. There will be some time to research following the meeting. Winter Trails Day
Celebrate Winter Trails Day with the Laurentian Lakes Chapter, North Country Trail Association at Maplelag Resort on Saturday, Jan. 11. Come out to celebrate winter by cross-country skiing or snowshoeing on Maplelag’s trail system. There will also be a silent auction, business meeting, dinner and more. Lakes Area Chorale
Come sing with the Lakes Area Chorale on Sundays at 4 p.m., Jan. 5-March 9. DL area adaptive hockey The Detroit Lakes Area Adaptive Hockey is a new team that spends time on the ice working towards being a part of Minnesota Special Hockey, and is open to any age and ability.
