Saturday, Feb. 8
Join the Laurentian Lakes Chapter of the North Country National and Scenic Trail as they snowshoe from the CR-39 trailhead south along the Laurentian Divide to the State Hwy 113 trailhead. Meet at the CR-39 trailhead at 1 p.m. This trailhead is about 2 miles north of the Intersection of State Hwy 113 and Becker Co. Rd 37. Note: A ride back to the cars at the starting point will be provided. This is a relatively long snowshoe hike (4 miles) but it would be possible for people to do a shorter, out and back snowshoe trip if they wished. Youth fishing derby
The Luke Gandrud Memorial Youth Fishing Derby is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Lake Ida. Tackle and bait will be provided. Free hot dogs and pop on the ice. It is open to ages 15 and under.
PEO Chapter FG
P.E.O Chapter FG meets at 9:30 a.m. in the home of Mary Richards, with Cheryl Mollberg and Ruth Olson assisting. Program will be presented by Ardys Horner. Refreshments will be served.
Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church hosts its annual Valentine’s Banquet starting at 5:30 p.m. in the church. There is no charge for this event, but we ask that you RSVP by calling 439-3255 and leave us a message as soon as possible with the number attending. Dinner is at 5:30, with the program to follow.

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.
Rotary’s Polar-ific spaghetti dinner is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in M State. Tickets are $7 for adults, kids ages 4-12 are $4 and ages 3 and under are free. Takeout is available.

DL Christian Women’s Club

Drum and Dance practice
DL School’s Native American Programs sponsors sign up and practice for the Drum and Dance season. It will take place each Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. throughout the rest of January and times will be announced for February practice. It will be in the Roosevelt Elementary cafeteria. Additional information will be handed out. All K-12 Detroit Lakes students are welcomed, and beginners are encouraged. DL area adaptive hockey
The Detroit Lakes Area Adaptive Hockey is a new team that spends time on the ice working towards being a part of Minnesota Special Hockey, and is open to any age and ability.
