Cancer support group

Essentia Health St. Mary’s Cancer Support Group meets at 5 p.m. in the mid-campus conference room. Questions? Call Jen Frank at 847-0883. The Cancer Support Group is for patients, survivors, family, friends and caregivers. February’s speaker is Tracy Roforth, occupational therapist. The support group meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

Friday, Feb. 28

Friendly Squares

Park Rapids Friendly Squares hosts a square dance in Century School. Myron Hollatz will be calling. Plus is 7:30 to 8 p.m. Mainstream is 8 to 10. Club will provide a potluck lunch after the dance. All square dancers and spectators are welcome.

Saturday, March 1

Travis Leitheiser benefit

A spaghetti dinner benefit for Travis Leitheiser, who was injured in a car accident in September, is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Speak Easy, DL. There will also be a silent auction. Funds raised will help defray medical bills.

Wolfe, Riehle fundraiser

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser to support Zach Wolfe and Dylan Riehle’s summer trip to Europe is from 4-7 p.m. in Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Callaway. Adults are $8, kids 6-12 are $5 and children under 6 are free.

Catholic Daughters

The Catholic Daughters of Holy Rosary Church meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish living room area. The guest speaker will be a representative of The Refuge.

Clint Kako benefit

A benefit for Clint Kako, who lost his home and belongings in a fire, is from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Osage Community Center. Thre will also be a silent auction. Money can also be donated through http://www.youcaring.com/kakofire.

Sunday, March 2

Pancake breakfast

The Knights of Columbus sponsors a pancake/French toast and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center. All proceeds will go to the Becker County Food Pantry.

Uganda Mission concert

A Lakes Area Uganda Mission benefit concert is at 2 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, DL. It is a free-will offering. Artists performing include Lee Brenna, Deb Bruns, Linda Grefsrud, Randy Nubson, Madison Korf, Randy Skow-Anderson, Adam Albright and Bob Kohler plus more.

VFW pancake feed

The VFW Post 9880 & Auxiliary host a pancake and sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ogema Community Center. Adults are $6, children 6-12 are $4 and under 6 are free. For information, call Doug Fabre, Quartermaster, at 218-983-3443.

Driver’s safety refresher

M State’s BES hosts a Lunch & Learn How to Patent your Idea on Feb. 27 from noon to 1 p.m. Cathy Lindquist, executive director for Small Business Development Centers, and Michael Neustel, patent attorney, will talk about patenting your ideas.
