March dinner

St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Hawley, hosts a March dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Adults are $10, ages 6-12 are $4 and preschool are free.

Galapagos presentation

Joann Knapp will be presenting a program on her adventures to the Galapagos at 3:30 p.m. in the Congregational Church, DL. The trip was all captured on DVD and narrated by Joann. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Questions call 701-412-7384.

Driver’s safety refresher

Diggin’ Downtown DL meeting

A Diggin’ Downtown DL meeting is at 9 a.m. in La Barista for business owners that will be affected by the Washington Avenue project this summer. City Engineer Jon Pratt will give a construction update. There will also be discussion on marketing and budget.

LP Garden Club

The Lake Park Garden Club meets at 1 p.m. in the new Ella Marie’s Cafe and Collectibles, located at 14989 County Road 4, just to the west of the Roadhouse on County Road 5 and near the public access to Lake Ida. Fish fry

The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring Lenten Fish Fries on Fridays, March 7-April 11, from 5-7 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for those under 12. All proceeds return to the community.

Kindergarten roundup

Rossman and Roosevelt Elementary Schools, DL, host kindergarten roundup at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. on April 7. Each session is one hour and you may attend either. If your child is age-eligible for kindergarten and you have not received a registration packet, contact the school at 847-9271.

Battle of the Businesses Bowling Tournament

The DL Lions Club and Voyageur Lanes host Battle of the Businesses Bowling Tournament on March 22. Four-person teams bowl at 2, 4 or 6 p.m. Entry fee is $100. For more info, contact Brenda Wieland at 844-4221 ext. 112.

A day of pampering

Art of Marriage seminar

The Seventh-day Adventist Church, DL, hosts “The Art of Marriage” seminar on March 14, from 6:30-9 p.m. and March 15-16 from 3-6 p.m. both days. Adrenals class

Lake Park-Audubon Community Ed hosts “It’s NOT my Imagination…It’s my Adrenals!” with instructor Amy Lundberg. You might be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue (Super Woman Syndrome) if you feel if you sat down to rest you would not be able to get back up again but you can’t fall asleep at night or stay asleep. Class is March 29 from 9–10:30 a.m. Class fee is $10.

Mosaic Garden Light

Lake Park-Audubon Community Ed hosts “Mosaic Garden Light” with instructor Becky Mitchell, The Glass Lady Studio. Class is March 29 from 10:30 a.m.–noon in the Glass Lady Studio, Lake Park. Class fee is $30.

Wagon Wheel Rug

Lake Park-Audubon Community Ed hosts “Wagon Wheel Rug” with instructor JoAnne Flom. This type of rug dates back to the early settlers. As they traveled across country the ladies used the 5th wheel on the carriage to make rugs for their new homes. In this class you’ll use hula hoops. Use your old jeans, t-shirts, bed sheets, towels or virtually any material to make a rug, chair pad or even coasters. Bring a sheet for the “spokes” and the material you will be using for weaving to class. Please bring a needle, thread and scissors to class also. Class is April 24 and May 1 from 6-8 p.m. Class fee is $15 and includes a hula hoop.

Breastfeeding support group

A Breastfeeding Support Group is Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. in St. Mary’s Essentia Health conference rooms A & B. Women and children only. Please call the OB floor for more information or to sign up at 847-0804.
