The April MAC-NAPS distribution is from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Applications are available at St. Luke’s Church. To quality, you must be at least 60 years of age and meet the USDA income guidelines.

French toast breakfast

Circles of Faith UCC of Waubun serve a French toast breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Waubun Community Center. Adults are $6, children 6-10 are $3 and preschoolers are free. The youth group will also host a silent auction.

Join Faith Lutheran Church, DL, for the Messiah in the Passover demonstration present by Chosen People Ministries at 6 p.m.  It is a vivid demonstration showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of the Passover. For more information or to RSVP, call the church at 847-1040.

Kaotic Robotics fundraiser

A fundraiser for Frazee’s Kaotic Robotics program is from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Frazee Event Center. There will be spaghetti feed, silent auction, gun raffle, comedian and robot demonstration. It is a free will offering.

Flea market, craft fair

A Flea Market & Craft Fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Waubun Community Center.  Lunch will be served.

Catholic Daughters

Catholic Daughters meets at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in living room at 7 p.m. Please bring paper products and/or coffee to donate to The Refuge.

All-City Choir Festival

The DL All-City Choir Festival is April 4-5. Guest Conductor is J. Aaron McDermid of the University of Jamestown. The public is invited to attend the Grand Finale Concert on April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the DL High School Gymnasium. Advance tickets are being sold by the choir students in grades 6-12 and will also be available at the door. Cost is $5 per adult and $3 for students in grades 6-12. Students in grades 5 and under are free.

Free health fair

The Vergas Lions and the Vergas Fire and Rescue host a Free Health Fair in the Vergas Event Center. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and will begin with an information session on “What to do before help arrives” by the CDH Vergas Fire & Rescue. Other information sessions include Lions Can Do Canine by Bonnie Genin, Lions New Hope by Jim Johansen and Jennifer Spileman, First Aide Presentation &  Defibrillator Demonstration by CDH Vergas Fire & Rescue, and Lions Kamp KACE (Kids against cancer everywhere) by Jay Norby. The Health Fair also includes diabetes, blood pressure and eye health screenings throughout the day. Tours will be given of the CDH Vergas Fire & Rescue as well as fire prevention safety tips. This event is free and open to the public.

Spring Extravaganza

The Spring Extravaganza Craft and vendor Show is from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Speak Easy, DL. Lots of door prizes.

The DL Knights of Columbus sponsors a pancake/French toast and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center.

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.

Alzheimers-Dementia group

The Alzheimers-Dementia Support Group meets at 2 p.m. in the DL Library. These meetings are open to the public. This month, Jess Steinbrunner, Alzheimers Association representative, will be speaking. Anyone interested in learning more about Alzheimers and the resources available to caregivers are invited to attend. There is no charge.

Spring Splash Party

Celebrate your child during National Week of the Young Child with a Spring Splash Party from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Education Center, DL.

Sons of Norway

Vikingland Lodge No. 495, Detroit Lakes, meets at 7 p.m. in Union Central, DL. The program will be Elena K Photography from Fargo.  Elena specializes in women’s photos. She has an interesting background as she is relatively new to Fargo where she lives with her husband and two sons. Elena grew up and lived in Siberia. She will tell us how she came to Fargo and her interest in photography. Public is invited.

NARFE meeting

Detroit Lakes NARFE (National Active & Retired Federal Employees) Chapter 1842 meets at noon in the Ice Cutter Room at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes. Our guest speaker will be Kevin Litzau, owner of Toad River Technology, who will speak on computer maintenance. All current and retired Federal employees and spouses are encouraged to attend.

Season of Hope

The DL Christian Women’s Club hosts Season of Hope from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Holiday Inn. Lunch cost is $9.25. Make reservations by April 7 to Norma at 846-1977 or Ruth at 847-5507.

Flowers for sale

The Roosevelt PTO is selling flowers and some produce now through April 14 to raise money for field trips, technology and other needs for the elementary school. Orders will be delivered May 8 by the students who submitted the orders. For those wishing to order flowers, which will all grow in this zone, can either contact a Roosevelt Elementary student or Jenna Schoenberger at 850-0595.

Rummage, bake sale

The Zion Lutheran Church LWML, DL, hosts a rummage and bake sale on April 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. and April 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be barbecues, bars and coffee.

Holy Rosary Fish fry

The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring Lenten Fish Fries on Fridays, March 7-April 11, from 5-7 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for those under 12. All proceeds return to the community.

Frazee Fish fry

The Knights of Columbus Frazee Council 12581 annual Lenten fundraiser fish dinners are March 28 and April 11 from 5-7 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Adults are $8, kids (7-12) are $5 and 6 and under are free. Everyone is welcome.

Heart O’Lakes Harmony

The Heart O’Lakes Harmony chorus presents “Halo & Good Buy Tent Revival” April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy School Auditorium, Fergus Falls, and April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Historic Holmes Theatre, DL. Tickets are $12 and children under 12 are free.

MOFAS community event

A MOFAS community Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder presentation and discussion for all young men and women, ages 14-25, is May 1 from 4-6 p.m. in Lincoln Education Center, DL. There will be free gifts, dinner and prizes. Childcare is available. Contact Carrie at 218-847-4418 to reserve space.

Illusionist/magician performs

Come along with the Lake Park Audubon Community Ed for a night of Las Vegas style illusion and laughs. Jared Sherlock, an award-winning illusionist and comic magician, is coming to the Top Hat Theater in Ulen on Saturday, May 3. Fee is $20 for adults and $15 for students. Kindergarten roundup

Rossman and Roosevelt Elementary Schools, DL, host kindergarten roundup at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. on April 7. Each session is one hour and you may attend either. If your child is age-eligible for kindergarten and you have not received a registration packet, contact the school at 847-9271.

Faith Christian enrollment

Bowhunter Archery Club

The Heart of Lakes Bowhunter Archery Club hosts the Minnesota State Target Archery Indoor Tournament April 4-6 in the DL hickey arena. ECLA Cluster 7 gathering

All women of the ELCA are invited to attend the Cluster 7 Spring gathering on Saturday, April 26, at NeeGonNee Lutheran Church, rural Mahnomen. Registration is $10 and will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m., followed by a program and a noon luncheon, which is included in the registration fee. Cancer support group

Essentia Health St. Mary’s Cancer Support Group meets the 4th Wednesday of the month at 5 pm.  Please meet at the fireplace in the Clinic Lobby.
