Flowers for sale
The Roosevelt PTO is selling flowers and some produce now through April 14 to raise money for field trips, technology and other needs for the elementary school. Orders will be delivered May 8 by the students who submitted the orders. ECLA Cluster 7 gathering
All women of the ELCA are invited to attend the Cluster 7 Spring gathering on Saturday, April 26, at NeeGonNee Lutheran Church, rural Mahnomen. Wagon Wheel Rug
Lake Park-Audubon Community Ed hosts “Wagon Wheel Rug” with instructor JoAnne Flom. This type of rug dates back to the early settlers. As they traveled across country the ladies used the 5th wheel on the carriage to make rugs for their new homes. In this class you’ll use hula hoops. Use your old jeans, t-shirts, bed sheets, towels or virtually any material to make a rug, chair pad or even coasters. Bring a sheet for the “spokes” and the material you will be using for weaving to class. Please bring a needle, thread and scissors to class also. Class is April 24 and May 1 from 6-8 p.m. Class fee is $15 and includes a hula hoop.
Twine rug class
Do you like the look of homemade rugs? Don’t like to let anything go to waste? Try the twine rug class through Lake Park-Audubon Community Ed. Turn old jeans, t-shirts, bed sheets, towels or virtually any material into beautiful rugs. Prep work is required prior to each class, which is held in the LPA elementary lunchroom. Please bring scissors, needle and thread to class, Thursday, May 15 and 22, from 6-8 p.m. Class fee is $25.
