Syttende Mai Smorgasbord
The Syttende Mai Smorgasbord is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Solem Lutheran Church, Hawley. Adults are $11, ages 6-12 are $4 and preschool are free. Everyone is welcome.
Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge hosts the movie “Extraordinary Birds” at 2 p.m. in the visitor center. Stunning nature photography takes flight to capture the wondrous behavior of birds. Follow a falcon in a hunt for prey, a tiny hummingbird who commutes 5000 miles and an owl who makes its living in a barnyard. 50 minutes. Celebrate birds during this Festival of Birds weekend.
Color Guard breakfast
The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard fundraiser pancake/French toast breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon in the DL Legion Club. Suggested donation is $6.50.
The Men of Praise
The Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church hosts The Men of Praise, a gospel singing group from Minneapolis, at 6:30 p.m. A free will offering will be taken. Bars and coffee will be served after the concert.

Detroit Lakes eighth grade students would like to invite you to visit the DLMS KIVA Fair from 8:30 to 9 a.m. in the DLMS commons. At 9, they will be showing a video in the DLMS Auditorium on the KIVA project to any who wish to attend. KIVA is a creative partnership with the DL Rotary Clubs in which DLMS eighth grade geography students attempt to alleviate poverty around the globe by providing $25 loans to 3rd World entrepreneurs. This year students gave 242 loans totaling over $6,000. The money for these KIVA loans is sponsored by the local Rotary clubs. Visit www.kiva.org for more information.

North Country Trail Spring Series Hike No. 3 begins at 1 p.m. at the trailhead on Hwy 4, two miles south of Lake George. The hike progresses east to Hwy 91, a distance of 8 miles.
