Legion Auxiliary breakfast
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 15 hosts a pancake/French toast breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.in the DL Legion. A suggested donation of $6.50.

The Miss Minnesota send-off for local royalty is at 2 p.m. in the Frazee Event Center. Everyone is welcome to see the dresses and talents of Miss Frazee and Miss Frazee Outstanding Teen, Miss Heart of the Lakes, Miss Perham and Miss Perham Outstanding Teen, Miss Northwest and Miss Northwest Teen.
Sunday outside worship
Zion Lutheran Church, DL, hosts outdoor worship, VBS children singing, potluck picnic and bouncy house and joust for the kids from Games Galore beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bring your family, a lawnchair and a potluck dish to share.
Tamarac Wildlife Refuge presents the movie, “Is that Skunk?” at 2 p.m. in the visitor center. Utterly recognizable yet still mysterious, these black and white creatures inhabit woods and neighborhoods all across America. What is like to be a skunk? Find out as scientists track them day and night to reveal some smelly secrets. Stay for a short presentation: Tamarac’s Wily Weasels.

Open Barn 2
The DL Chamber of Commerce, the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce and the Vergas Community Club sponsor the Open Barn 2, an evening of music, food, drinks and “Business After Hours” from 5-7 p.m. at Five Lakes Resort. It is free and open to the public. The Buffalo River Ramblers will be entertaining with bluegrass music during the entire event. Over 30 area businesses and organizations will be having display tables at the event. Free appetizers sponsored by Fair Hills Resorts and Five Lakes Resorts, and a cash bar.

Paws at the Zoo
Join the DL Library at 2 p.m. for Paws at the Zoo: All things Connected. The Minnesota Zoomobile is coming to the Detroit Lakes Library with some real live zoo animals. Using a variety of animals, props and activities, the Zoomobile naturalist will show the relationships that connect all life on earth.
Tamarac Wildlife Refuge hosts a Wildlife Excursion at 10 a.m. Explore the refuge with a knowledgeable guide. Tours will be offered every Thursday, June-August, at 10 a.m. Search for wildlife and learn about the cultural and natural history of Tamarac Refuge. Meet at the Visitor Center.

Frolicking with frogs
Tamarac Wildlife Refuge hosts Frolicking with Frogs from 8 to 10 p.m. Kick off your weekend with croaking frogs. Identify frogs by their calls while learning about their natural history and significance in the ecosystem. You may even get up close and personal with these wild critters. Bring a flashlight and boots or shoes you can get wet. Meet at the visitor center.
Holy Rosary Catholic Daughters host a Spring salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $7, and there will be raffles as well.
Tuesday in the Park
Habitat for Humanity serves burger, hot dogs and brats each Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. before the concerts. Funds will assist in providing affordable housing for needy families.
