Lund Lutheran Church hosts an outdoor service at 9 a.m. The church is 9 miles north on Richwood Road.
Floyd Shores fishing contest
The annual Floyd Shores Family Fun Fishing Contest is free to all association members and their families. Fishing may start at 12 a.m., and fish will be weighed between 3 and 4 p.m. at Pete Mathison’s house. There will be four age divisions, and awards will be presented after the weigh-in. Tamarac Wildlife Refuge presents the movie “What Plants Talk About” at 2 p.m. Plants are actively communicating with the environment every day, responding to nutrients, predators, and herbivores that are around them. This film shows that plants are smarter than we thought. Stay to learn about the invasive plants of the refuge and how we are trying to outsmart them.
Lake Park Historical Society open house
The Lake Park Area Historical Society Old Schoolhouse open house is from 1-3 p.m. Come to see the newly renovated Old Country Schoolhouse in Lake Park (located to the east of the American Legion building). There will be cookies, coffee and lemonade served. Photo displays and information about the Lake Park Area Historical Society’s new website and activities.
The Historic Shoreham Chapel, located across from the Hotel Shoreham, starts at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday. Music is by Ron and Opal Erickson Co. Gospel. The Rev. Tim Cook will be officiating.

The Lakes Area Birding Club meets at 7 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Public Library. Come and meet the new Detroit Lakes Area Wildlife Supervisor Rob Baden. Guests are welcome.

Beach party for dads
Partners In Parenting and Young Life sponsor a free Beach Party for all young moms and dads ages 22 and under. It is from 3 to 7 p.m. at SOL on the beach. Cost is free. Come for grilled picnic foods, music, pontoon rides, paddle boarding, a bouncy house, childcare and more.

‘Magic Tree House’ project
The Detroit Lakes Library hosts Paws in the “Magic Tree House” at 2 p.m. When, where, and with whom has the Magic Tree House landed? With “Lions at Lunchtime”? or “Tigers at Twilight”? or “Dogs in the Dead of Night”? We will make tree house replicas and decorate them to match a Magic Tree House book destination.

Long Lake Boat Parade
The Long Lake Boat Parade is at 3 p.m., beginning at the public access. The parade travel north around the lake.

Shepherd of Lakes Day Camp
Shepherd of the Lakes Church, located at 404 Richwood Road, Detroit Lakes, will host a day camp from June 30-July 3, for grades 1-6. Led by Inspiration Point Christian Camp & Retreat Center, sessions run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Lunch plus two snacks will be provided. 847-2869 for more info.
Tuesdays in the Park
Habitat for Humanity serves burger, hot dogs and brats each Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. before the concerts. Funds will assist in providing affordable housing for needy families.
