Shoreham Chapel

The Historic Shoreham Chapel, located across from the Hotel Shoreham, starts at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday. Music is by the Praise Singers from Cormorant. The Rev. Tim Cook will be officiating.

Ham dinner

Immanuel Lutheran Church of Shell Lake hosts a ham dinner at noon. Services are at 11 a.m. It is a freewill offering. There will be a quilt raffle, silent pie auction and ice cream bar.

The Detroit Lakes Library hosts Predator Paws at Tamarac at 2 p.m. What kinds of predators live in Becker County? Get this answer and more from a Tamarac Wildlife Refuge naturalist, who will bring along “wild” things to hear, see and touch.

The Cultural Center in New York Mills is launching its 1st Annual Little Big Year. Belles Club Bazaar,

Bake Sale

The Belles Club of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church will hold its annual bazaar and bake sale from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 and 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday, July 20. The Belles will sell BBQ pork sandwich plates after the 5 p.m. mass on Saturday, and again after the 10:30 a.m. mass on Sunday. There will also be fresh frosted cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls, coffee and juice served after the 8:30 a.m. mass on Sunday. Lots of games, fun and shopping for the whole family; the winners of the raffles for two quilts and a vacation home getaway will also be announced. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

Red Cross swimming


Red Cross certified instructor Nancy Jacobson offers Red Cross swimming lessons July 7-11 and 14-18 at the Vergas City Beach on Long Lake. Registration is at 9 a.m. on July 7 at the Vergas Community Center. Lessons will follow registration that same day. Cost is $35 per child. Private lessons are available upon request. Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church VBS

Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church host “Weird Animals” vacation bible school from July 20-24. Kids will learn about some of God’s most creative creations by participating in Bible-learning activities, singing catchy songs, playing teamwork-building games, digging into treats and more. Crafters, cardmakers and scrapbookers are invited to meet every Tuesday throughout the summer from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Senior Citizens Center, located in the DLCCC. Habitat for Humanity serves burger, hot dogs and brats each Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. before the concerts. Funds will assist in providing affordable housing for needy families. Jasper’s Theater, Park Rapids, is celebrating its’ 10th season of bringing its’ own unique brand of family entertainment to this region. Prairie Fire Children’s

Theatre Play

Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre is back this year to help put on “Peter Pan.” Youth ages 7-18 are invited to join Lake Park-Audubon Community Ed this summer for a trip to Neverland with a twist. Practice is Aug. 18-23, and auditions take place on the first day and everyone gets a part. Participants should bring a water bottle and snack each day to practice. Cancer support group

Essentia Health St. Mary’s Cancer Support Group meets the 4th Wednesday of the month at 5 pm. Please meet at the fireplace in the Clinic Lobby. The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games.
