Sunday, May 10
St. Mary's of the Lakes, DL, hosts the 30th annual Fisherman's Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon. Adults are $7 and children under 12 are $3.
Center Stage Dance recital
Two Center Stage Dance Academy recitals are at 1:30 and 5 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Middle School auditorium. Tickets for reserved seating can be purchased at the studio or at the door.
Summit Dance School
Summit Dance School presents 25th Anniversary "Traveling Through The Years" at 5 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for students, which are sold at the Historic Holmes Box Office, 844-7469.
Mother's Day dinner
The DL Knights of Columbus sponsor a Mother's Day dinner of ham and turkey from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Community Center. Adults are $8, ages 4-12 are $4 and under 4 are free.

Trail Blazers Saddle Club
Lakes Trail Blazers Saddle Club meet at 7 p.m. in Izzo's. If you want to get together with others involved with horses come and see what the club has to offer.
Odd Fellows meets at 1:30 p.m. in the IOOF Hall, DL. Visitors are welcome.

Hospice open house
Hospice of the Red River Valley hosts an open house in celebration of 25 years of hospice care in the Detroit Lakes area. It is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hospice of the Red River Valley. Refreshments will be served. Brief remarks at 12:15 p.m.
The 412 Lakes Area Toastmasters meets from 7 to 7:45 a.m. on Tuesdays in the Minnesota State Community and Technical College, room C102. MSCTC has a cafeteria that serves breakfast and coffee. Sons of Norway
Sons of Norway Vikingland Lodge No. 495, DL, meets at 7 p.m. in the D.L. Nutrition Center. The program is Vikingage Club from Minneapolis dressed in authentic Viking costumes. Dennis Rusinko and Gary and Helen Anderson are the presenters and will talk about the history of the Vikings. On May 13, the presenters will do a program for the grade school children at Roosevelt Elementary School, which is open to the public.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1676, Detroit Lakes, will resume nominations and will have elections of Officers for the 2009-10 ensuing year at 7 p.m. in the Post Home, 500 Washington Ave.
DL chapter of AARP
The Detroit Lakes chapter of AARP meets at 10 a.m. in Diamond Willow, DL. Royal Herbold will tell of a mission trip to an orphanage in Uganda. Everyone is welcome.
Detroit Club Women's Bridge
The Detroit Country Club Women's Bridge Association meets at 11:30 a.m. Make reservations by noon on May 11 to Donna at 844-7264, Ginny at 847-2969 or Maureen at 844-6712.
The White Earth Reservation Veteran's Association sponsors bingo every other Tuesday in the Veteran's Memorial Building. Cost is $20 at the door and proceeds go to the Veteran's Association to assist in funding community events. Warm ups start at 6:30 p.m. and regular session at 7.
Area administrative professionals of the Detroit Lakes IAAP Chapter meet at 5:30 p.m. in room F102 at MSCTC, Detroit Lakes. Lois Greisen of Eagle Associates will present "Negotiations: How to Get What You Want." Disabled American Veterans mobile service unit
Disabled American Veterans mobile service unit is at the corner parking lot at Lake Avenue and Frazee Street (across from library) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The nonprofit will provide counseling and claim filing help to veterans for free.
