Wednesday, April 14

-Ojibwe language class

An Ojibwe language class is every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes library. It is a potluck supper, and free and open to the public.

-Women's discussion group

A new discussion group for women of all ages meets from 9 to 11 p.m. This group is for serious-minded females who want to get together and bring ideas. What is your passion? For more information, contact 847-9849.

Thursday, April 15

-Spaghetti feed

A fund-raiser for new kitchen equipment at the Senior Citizen Community center is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the center.

-Spring fashion show

The Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship Fund-raiser Spring Fashions Show is at 7 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, DL. It will feature fashions for all ages by Christopher Banks, Glik's, Maurice's, Nadine's and Vanity. There will be drawings for a homemade afghan, gift certificates and several other door prizes. A free-will offering will be taken. Proceeds will go to the Scholarship Fund and benefit area Education Students. Everyone welcome.

-Frazee Spring Arts Festival

The Frazee Spring Arts Festival is from 7-9 p.m. in the Frazee High school Green Gym. The Festival will include K-12 Visual Art displays, 12 full size student created Mosaic Windows -- auctioned through silent auction, 5th-12th vocal/instrumental performances, Empty Bowl fundraiser project. K-12 Visual Art Displays can also be seen at Frazee High School Green gym from 8:30 a.m. to noon on April 16.

Friday, April 16

Twirlers canceled

The Lake Park Country Twirlers have canceled their dance for tonight.

-Byberg in town

Republican congressional candidate Lee Byberg hosts "Twice American Tour Stop" from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the DL Community and Cultural Center ballroom. There is no cost, and an open forum will be apart of the event.

-Spring salad

The Congregational Church, DL, hosts a spring salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 17

-Blood drive

The DL Breakfast Rotary Club hosts a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Boys and Girls Club.

-Family Fun Carnival

The 7th annual Family Fun Carnival is from 11 .m. to 3 p.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. There will be 25 games featured to provide fun for all ages. Lunch will also be available. Sponsored by the Bethlehem Preschool/Daycare Committee.

-Twisted Stitchers

The Twisted Stitchers Fiber Guild meets at 9:30 a.m. at 210 S. Main St., Park Rapids. This will be a work session, so bring your projects to work on and show and tell.

-Chili feed

Augustana Lutheran Church, one mile east of the county Rd. 15 and county Rd. 22 intersection, hosts an all you can eat chili feed from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is adults for $5, ages 6-12 are $3 and 5 and under are free.

-Timber movie, logger breakfast

The Frazee debut of Jeff Schlossman's documentary film "Timber: Dead and Down" is at 9 a.m. A logger breakfast is from 7 to 9 a.m. Both are in the Frazee Event Center. Breakfast is a free-will offering to the Frazee Lions Club.

Sunday, April 18

-Meat bingo

St. Theodore's Church, Ponsford/Pine Point, hosts a meat bingo at 1:30 p.m. There will be 20 games and 20 winners.

-Pancake breakfast

A pancake and French toast breakfast is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Senior Citizen Community Center, DL. Cost is $3.50.

-Spring dinner

Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, hosts a Spring Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Adults are $10, 6-12 are $4 and preschool are free.

-Meatball, gravy dinner

Houglum Lutheran Church, Lake Park, hosts a meatball and gravy dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Prices are $8 for adults, 5 to 12 are $4 and under 5 are free.
