Sunday, May 23
The Becker County Historical Society hosts a Sunday History Cruise at Fair Hills Resort on Pelican Lake from 3 to 5 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon cruise aboard the 60-foot "Big Pelican" excursion boat and learn a little Becker County boating history along the way. Snacks and a cash bar will be available. Tickets must be purchased in advance for $15 per person at the Becker County Museum during regular museum hours.
Supporters of the May 25 Lake Park-Audubon school vote host a "Vote Yes - Raider Rally" at 5 p.m. in the city park in Lake Park. There will be hot dogs and burgers, entertainment, music, face painting and carnival games. Students are organizing t-ball games and softball.

Lakes Area Birding Club
The Lakes Area Birding Club hosts a potluck at 5:30 p.m. at the Dunton Locks picnic shelter. In case of inclement weather, it will be moved to the Detroit Lakes Library meeting room.

Ladies Tuesday golf
Ladies Tuesday Lakeview Golf League meets every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Course. This is a fun 9-hole golf league May-August. Becker County Master Gardeners annual plant sale is from 8 to 11 a.m., or until all plants are sold, in the Detroit Lakes City Park, Corner of Washington Avenue and North Shore Drive.
Women's Golf tournament
The Detroit Lakes Women's Golf Invitational Tournament is June 9 at the Detroit Country Club. Register early -- on or before June 2 to be included in drawing for 2 free rounds of golf plus cart at DCC. Registration deadline is June 7, with a $40 entry fee. "Hats Off to Golf" is the theme. Hike for Trail Days
Join the Laurentian Lakes Chapter of the North Country Trail on June 5 with a four-mile hike to celebrate National Trails Day. This hike begins at 1 p.m. at the trailhead, 1.3 miles north of MN State Hwy. 113 on Clearwater Co. Hwy 39 (Becker Co. Hwy 37). This is a guided hike with shuttle service on the North Country National Scenic Trail between the Old Headquarters and MN Hwy 113 trailheads. Blazek featured artist
Perham artist Sharon Blazek is the featured artist at Flowers by Val in Detroit Lakes for the month of May. Her colored pencil art subjects are cats, dogs, wildlife and people.
